May 2026: The Lightning and the Earth

Dear Friends,

What does it mean to be remade while still standing? To feel the lightning move through you and remain rooted?

May 2026 holds both of these things at once. It is a month of extraordinary electrical acceleration and deep earthy stillness. It asks us to be the tree in the storm: branches alive with current, roots unmoved. From my years of teaching spiritual development, I have learned that the most profound initiations rarely arrive as we expect them. They arrive as this: simultaneously too fast and perfectly timed.

We are standing at one of the most significant thresholds in human evolution. May is not a stepping stone toward it. May is it.

When the Mask Falls Away

On May 1st, the Full Moon rises at 11° of Scorpio, and she arrives without apology. Full moons are always moments of illumination, of culmination, of truth surfacing from depths we did not know we had. Scorpio does not illuminate gently. She illuminates completely.

Secrets that have been carefully kept, narratives that have been carefully managed, structures that have depended on our not looking too closely: all of this is under the full beam of Scorpio's uncompromising light.

The moon sits within a Fixed Grand Cross, squaring Pluto in Aquarius and the trans-Neptunian body Varuna in Leo. Pluto here is the modern ruler of Scorpio, and in Aquarius it is shifting power toward the collective, toward freedom, toward truth.

This full moon also holds Eris, Chiron and Mercury conjunct in Aries: the warrior of truth, the wounded healer, and the voice, all moving together through the sign of sovereignty.

What has been wordless is finding language. What has been endured in silence is being named. The movement from victim consciousness to authentic power is not a gradual drift. At this full moon, it is a threshold crossed.

Where in your life has power been quietly misused, including by yourself? What would it feel like to stand fully in your own?

The New Era We Are Living

If the Scorpio Full Moon is the match strike, then the larger sky of May is the bonfire it ignites.

We are living inside one of astrology's most historically significant configurations. The Neptune-Saturn conjunction at zero degrees of Aries, which became exact in late February, marks what I can only describe as the inaugural moment of a genuinely new era for humanity. Zero Aries is the World Point, the cosmic beginning. Neptune, the dissolver of old boundaries. Saturn, the builder of new form. Together, at the absolute starting point of the zodiac, they are co-creating the architecture of a world that has not existed before.

They are also conjunct the dwarf planet Salacia: mermaid energy, the shimmering interplay of light and water, of luminosity structured through form. This conjunction speaks to something many are already sensing in their bodies and their spiritual practice: the call to embody more light, to receive the high-frequency energies streaming toward our planet right now with openness and conscious intention. When you meditate, when you sit in stillness, when you breathe in nature: ask for more light. Let it move through you. You are, in the most literal sense, a receiver.

On April 26th, Uranus moved into Gemini for the first time since the 1940s, and it will remain here until 2033.

If Neptune-Saturn is the new era's founding document, then Uranus in Gemini is its electrical grid being switched on. Uranus is the great awakener, the piercing sword of sudden clarity. Gemini is the sign of the mind, of communication, of the ways we exchange information and perceive reality. When these two forces combine, the rewiring is not metaphorical. It is neurological. It is biological.

Think of the image of a long-smudged mirror suddenly, completely clear.

The more we practice turning inward, the more quickly clarity arrives. This is not a retreat from the world. It is the most sophisticated response to it.

What new perception is trying to arrive for you? Where in your life is the windscreen clearing, and what are you beginning to see?

A new Time for our Home on Earth

On May 16th, the New Moon arrives at 25° 58' of Taurus, and its signature takes the breath away.

The Sun and Moon in Taurus form a close, out-of-sign conjunction with Uranus in Gemini. Read those words and feel them: New Moon. Earth. Uranus. New Earth. This is the sky's own phrase on May 16th, and it is not accidental. A new beginning in the most fertile, grounded sign of the zodiac, charged with the frequency of awakening and metamorphosis.

Taurus calls us home to simplicity. In a month already moving at extraordinary speed, this new moon is the earth beneath our feet, the invitation to slow down enough to plant something real. Taurus is not interested in the performance of intention. It wants the seed in the ground, watered, tended, trusted to the dark.

This new moon is also conjunct Ceres, the great goddess of grain and of the cycles of loss and return. Her presence here speaks to nourishment, to the wisdom of provision, and to the deeper truth she carries: what descends always returns. What has felt stripped away in recent years is not gone. It is composting into something truer, and it is beginning its return now..

Taurus also invites us to examine our values rather than our valuables. The outer planets now in fire and air are collectively reorienting humanity away from accumulation and toward connection, away from status and toward genuine human presence. Where are your values–what is truly you?

What seed are you planting? Not a wish, but a genuine intention, something you are willing to tend with patience and presence through whatever comes next. How can you cultivate peace and simplicity in your life?

Ground to Mother Earth with this new intention–a pure Taurean notion!

Venus, the ruler of this Libra Full Moon, is in Taurus—one of her home signs, deeply connected to self-worth, to knowing your value, to standing on solid ground within yourself.

This is the sacred feminine returning. Not the wounded feminine that sacrifices self for others, but the empowered feminine that knows boundaries are sacred, that "no" is a complete sentence, that self-care is essential.

The divine feminine is yin energy—receptive, loving, nurturing, collaborative. But yin does not mean weak.

What we're being called into is integration. The divine masculine that takes clear action AND the divine feminine that listens deeply. The Aries "I am" AND the Libra "we are." The sovereignty of self AND the beauty of relationship.

When you achieve that balance within yourself, you naturally move into coherence. And that becomes living inspiration for all around you.

The Lightning Mind

From May 17th onward, as Mercury moves into Gemini and conjuncts Uranus, and then as the Sun follows on May 21st-22nd, the sky delivers what may be the most electrically alive mental frequency of the year.

Mercury conjunct Uranus in Gemini is the signature of genius of ideas that arrive fully formed from somewhere beyond the linear mind. The Sun conjunct Uranus amplifies this into the collective field: a surge almost visible light moving through human consciousness. If you have cultivated stillness, you will feel this as extraordinary. If you have not, it may feel like overwhelm.

This is the paradox I return to again and again in my teaching: the higher the frequency, the more essential the ground. These downloads do not come through noise. They come through the gaps between thoughts, the open spaces of genuine receptivity. The more you can quiet the scrolling, reactive mind, the more clearly these transmissions arrive. Uranus does not repeat its offerings. When an insight arrives through this kind of transit, it asks for immediate intuitive response, not prolonged deliberation.

New interests, new passions, new ways of understanding your purpose: follow what feels genuinely alive. Uranus is always beckoning toward the new and exciting. Taurus, still present and grounding this month, helps you plant what Uranus sparks into something real and lasting.

Mars moves into Taurus on May 19th, adding its quiet, persistent strength to this already potent mix. Mars in Taurus does not rush. It builds. And on May 25th-26th, Mars squares Pluto in a brief but intense confrontation of will and transformation. In its highest expression, this is extraordinary tenacity, the capacity to see something through to completion without flinching. In the outer world, it may manifest as one final, loud expression of old-paradigm force. When it does, let it deepen your conviction.

What is arriving for you through the cracks in ordinary perception? What feels new, alive and unmistakably real?

Pluto Turns Inward

Around May 6th, Pluto stations retrograde at 5° 30' of Aquarius, beginning a five-month inward journey that lasts until mid-October.

When a planet stations, its energy concentrates. For the days surrounding the 6th, the symbolism of Pluto becomes a magnifying glass held over everything it governs: power, transformation, what has been hidden, what is ready to die so something else can be born. Those with personal planets between 4° and 6° of the fixed signs will feel this with particular intensity. Pluto transits are not comfortable. They are among the most permanently transformative forces we encounter. They do not revise. They remake.

Pluto retrograde asks us to do the outer work inward. Not: how is power being used in the world? But: how am I using power in my own life?

Where am I holding on to forms of control, whether over others or over my own process, that are preventing genuine transformation? Where have I been the one wearing the mask?

How to Use This on Your Soul's Journey in May

Return to ground, daily. With so much electrical, airy, fast-moving energy activating the collective field this month, the single most important practice is physical grounding. Bare feet on the earth. Whatever returns you most quickly to your body and to your center.

Plant your New Moon intentions with care. On May 16th, create a simple ritual around your genuine intentions. Write them. Sit with them. Let Taurus do what it does best: take what is visionary and make it real, slowly, patiently, trustingly. What do you want to tend this year?

Turn the radio dial deliberately. You are the only authority over your own inner frequency. No external event, however loud or disorienting, can take you out of your center unless you hand it that power. If you find yourself reactive, scattered, or pulled into the noise of the outer world, take a moment to sit in stillness.

Looking Toward June

As May closes, we are building toward something significant.

Uranus becomes exactly square to the lunar nodes on June 12th, a collective crossroads when important choices, both personal and planetary, become unavoidable and ask to be made quickly, intuitively, from the heart rather than the analyzing mind.

A full moon in Sagittarius on May 31st will illuminate ancient wisdom and profound knowledge that has been waiting beneath the surface of ordinary history. And the Uranus-Pluto trine becomes exact in July, completing what began as a seed in the 1960s: the flowering, at last, of genuine freedom.

The waves of higher knowing are building.

Make room for it in your own life.

Blessings to you dear readers!
