Astro Insights: Dance of the Cosmos & Soul Growth

Dear Friends,

Have you ever stood at the edge of something so vast, so alive with possibility, that every cell in your body seemed to hum with recognition, even before your mind could name what was happening?

July 2026 is that kind of month.

I can tell you that certain months carry an unmistakable charge, a quickening that we feel not only in the events unfolding around us, but deep within our own consciousness. July is one of those rare passages where the heavens seem to accelerate everything at once. Mars and Uranus meet in a blaze of breakthrough energy. Jupiter, freshly arrived in Leo, fans the flames of the heart wider than we thought possible. And at the center of it all, a deeply tender Cancer New Moon invites us to ask one of the most beautiful questions a soul can ask: where do I truly belong, and who is my real family?

This is a month of sacred fireworks. Some of what ignites will thrill us. Some of it will challenge the structures we have leaned on for a very long time. But underneath it all runs a single, unmistakable current: the soul's desire to live with more freedom, more truth, and more love than the old world ever made room for.

Let us walk through it together.

Mars Conjunct Uranus in Gemini: Cosmic Fireworks

July begins with a bang.

Mars, the planet of action and drive, is moving toward a conjunction with Uranus, the great awakener, at 4° of Gemini. This conjunction becomes exact on July 4th, and you will feel its approach from the very first days of the month. If there is one transit that captures the spirit of July, it is this one. Think of it as a cosmic match being struck in the sign of the mind, communication, and connection.

Mars conjunct Uranus is volatile energy. It is seismic, eruptive, electric. And it carries with it the unmistakable quality of breakthrough. thi s is a catalyst moment where something that has been building beneath the surface simply cannot be contained any longer. Truths pour through. Old barriers crack. What was hidden demands to be seen.

This is happening in Gemini, and that is significant. Gemini governs the mind, our neural pathways, communication of all kinds, travel, and the way information flows between us. So we may well see breakthroughs in our understanding of how the mind itself works. We may see disruptions in communications, in technology, in travel. And we may also see revelations moving through the collective at a speed that takes our breath away.

There is a restlessness to this energy that is worth naming. If you have planets between 0° and 5° of the mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, or Pisces), you are likely to feel it as an almost physical urgency, a need to break free, to move, to speak what has been left unsaid. Both Mars and Uranus are fast-moving energies. They do not wait. They do not deliberate. They ignite.

And yet, there is a spectacularly positive dimension here too. Mars conjunct Uranus carries the frequency of awakening. It is the transit that says: the time is now. Whatever truth has been gathering force within you, whatever freedom you have been circling, this is the cosmic green light.

The last time Mars and Uranus met was in mid-July 2024, at 26° of Taurus. Think back to that time.

What was erupting in your life, in the collective? There is a thread connecting then to now, and July may show you where that thread leads next.

Truth, like life, quietly waits for you to awaken

There are moments when the cosmos does not whisper. It strikes a match.

July is one of those moments.

Special Report: The Cancer New Moon: Redefining Family

July 14th | 22° Cancer

At the heart of this extraordinary month sits a New Moon of remarkable tenderness and quiet power.

The Sun and Moon come together at just one minute from 22° of Cancer, planting a new seed in the sign of home, belonging, emotional security, and the bonds that nourish us at the deepest level. Every new moon is a beginning, a moment to set an intention and trust the unfolding. But this one carries a particular resonance that I want to draw your attention to.

In January 2020, the momentous Saturn-Pluto conjunction occurred at 22° of Capricorn, exactly opposing this degree. That conjunction marked a profound turning point in our collective experience: a period of intense contraction, separation, and the dismantling of structures we had always taken for granted. Many of us were separated from the people we loved most. Human connection, that most Cancerian of needs, was suddenly and painfully disrupted.

Now, more than six years later, this New Moon falls on the mirror degree of that conjunction. It is as though the cosmos is asking us: how far have you come? What have you learned about what truly makes you feel safe? And how has your sense of family, of belonging, of home, transformed since that great disruption?

I believe this New Moon offers us the chance to consciously plant a new seed of emotional security, one that is no longer built on the old foundations but on something more authentic, more expansive, and more soul-led.

The New Moon makes a semi-square to Venus in Virgo, weaving love and care for the earth into this new beginning. Venus in Virgo is deeply connected to stewardship, to tending what is precious, to the kind of love that shows up not in grand gestures but in daily devotion. There is something beautiful here about extending our sense of family to include the earth herself, about caring for the land, the water, the soil as though they were kin. Because, of course, they are.

On the other side, the New Moon also makes a semi-square to Uranus in Gemini, bringing that electric, awakening energy into the picture once more. Our sense of who belongs in our family is expanding. The old definitions may no longer hold. You may find yourself drawn to new communities, to soul connections that transcend geography or bloodline, to a sense of kinship that is wider and more surprising than anything you have known before.

The strongest aspect this New Moon makes is a square to Eris at 25° of Aries. Eris is the fierce, unapologetic energy that demands everyone be included. In myth, she was the uninvited guest who refused to be excluded, and her presence in this chart speaks directly to the themes we have been tracing all month: the call for equality, for every voice to be heard, for no one to be left on the outside.

The fixed grand cross between Jupiter in Leo, Chiron in Taurus, Pluto in Aquarius, and Haumea in Scorpio brings tremendous determination and tenacity to this lunar cycle. This is the stewardship cross: our commitment to healing the earth, to regenerating what has been damaged, to building something new with both fierceness and tenderness. Within this grand cross, the Jupiter-Pluto opposition reminds us that our very definition of wealth and abundance is shifting. What if true abundance is not measured by what sits in our bank accounts, but by the richness of our relationship with nature, with each other, with the living earth?

The Heart Expands

Just as July opens with cosmic fireworks, it also carries the warm, expansive glow of Jupiter, which entered Leo on June 30th.

Jupiter has a beautifully reliable twelve-year cycle, spending approximately one year in each sign. If you cast your memory back to the period from July 2014 through August 2015, you will find the last time Jupiter moved through Leo in your chart. What was expanding for you then? What doors were opening? Jupiter is now returning to that same territory, and the echoes of that earlier passage may prove illuminating.

Leo is one of the happiest placements for Jupiter. It amplifies heart energy, creative expression, joy, generosity, and that leonine quality of stepping boldly into the spotlight of your own life. This is the planet of expansion meeting the sign of the heart, and together they invite us into greater optimism, more courageous self-expression, and a willingness to lead from love rather than fear.

This is also the year of the fire horse, and with Jupiter now moving through a fire sign, that fiery, fast-moving quality intensifies significantly. Everything accelerates. Jupiter will move remarkably quickly through Leo, reaching 27° by December before retrograding back through in the first half of 2027. So this is not a slow, contemplative unfolding. It is a blaze of forward motion. Days may feel as though they last only a handful of hours. Plans that seemed distant may suddenly rush toward you. The pace of change, already extraordinary, picks up again.

The last time we had a fire horse year was 1966, and those of you who know your recent history will recognize that era as a time of extraordinary cultural and social creativity, of community, of an expanded sense of what it meant to be human and to love freely. That same creative, heart-centred energy is flowing through now, and I believe we will see its expression in new forms of community, art, and visionary endeavor.

Now, Jupiter entering Leo also means that Jupiter is moving into a trine with Neptune in Aries. This is a deeply spiritual and idealistic aspect. It expands our sense of what is possible, fuels the visionary in each of us, and stirs a desire to be of service, to be philanthropic, to reach toward a more compassionate world. Historically, Neptune in Aries has coincided with the birth of pioneering humanitarian movements, organizations born from the desire to serve those who have been marginalized or forgotten. That pioneering compassion is alive in the air now, and Jupiter's trine amplifies it beautifully.

Jupiter in Leo, when expressed through the ego rather than the heart, can manifest as grandiosity, entitlement, and an inflated sense of self-importance. It can favor great inequality when the expansion benefits only those already at the top. We have seen this pattern before, and the cosmos is asking us to be conscious of it now. The question is always: are you expanding your heart, or only your ego?

This is especially relevant because Jupiter is also moving toward an opposition with Pluto in Aquarius, which reaches exactitude around July 20th. Jupiter opposite Pluto is a transit deeply connected to wealth, power, and the question of how resources are distributed.

In January 2020, when Saturn and Pluto conjoined and Jupiter soon followed, we saw an enormous redistribution of wealth, much of it flowing toward those who already held the most, while many others lost their livelihoods entirely. That conjunction was the seed. This opposition is like the full moon of that cycle: a reckoning, a moment of illumination around the themes of excess, inequality, and who truly holds the power.

And here is what I find fascinating: at the very same time that Jupiter opposes Pluto (raising these questions of wealth and power), Jupiter is also trine Neptune (expanding the spiritual, the compassionate, the philanthropic). So the cosmos presents us with a choice. The same energy that can hoard can also give. The same expansion that feeds the ego can also feed the soul. Which will we choose?

Sun Square Saturn: Making the Vision Real

On July 6th, the Sun at 14° of Cancer forms a square to Saturn at 14° of Aries, and this transit offers something that every visionary month needs: a reality check.

Now, Saturn often gets a difficult reputation, but from my years of working with this energy, I have come to see it as one of our greatest allies when we are trying to build something lasting. A square is friction, yes. But friction is also what gives our wheels traction on the road.

Think back to late March and early April of this year, when the Sun and Saturn were conjunct. What were you beginning to birth then? What new structure, new commitment, new project was taking its first breath? This square is the first checkpoint on that journey. It asks: is this real? Can you ground it? What needs to become more tangible, more disciplined, more honest?

This does not have to feel heavy or punishing. It can be deeply pragmatic, even satisfying, the moment when a beautiful idea begins to take solid form. Let Saturn be your architect this week. Let the vision become a plan.

How to Use This on Your Soul's Journey in July

July is a month of extraordinary momentum, and the most important thing you can do is stay anchored in your heart while the world accelerates around you. Here are some ways to work consciously with this energy:

With Mars conjunct Uranus, notice where the restlessness is pointing you. Restlessness is often the soul's way of saying that something needs to change. Rather than suppressing the urgency, ask it a question: what freedom is trying to be born through me right now? Let the breakthroughs come, but channel that electric energy with intention rather than impulsiveness.

With Jupiter in Leo, this is your invitation to expand through joy, creativity, and generous self-expression. What lights you up? What have you been holding back from sharing with the world? Jupiter in Leo rewards the courageous heart. But stay honest with yourself about the difference between genuine confidence and ego inflation. The heart knows the difference, even when the mind does not.

With the Sun square Saturn, take one of your beautiful visions and give it a structure. Write the plan. Set the deadline. Have the difficult conversation that makes the dream more real. Saturn is not here to diminish your fire. Saturn is here to build it a hearth.

With Neptune stationary retrograde, give yourself permission to slow down inwardly, even as the outer world speeds up. Meditate. Dream. Sit in nature and listen. This is a time for refining your spiritual discernment, for letting go of any illusions that have been clouding your true vision.

At the Cancer New Moon on July 14th, set an intention around belonging. You might ask yourself: if I could create a sense of home that truly nourished my soul, what would it look and feel like? Who would be there? And what old definition of family am I ready to release? Write it down. Speak it aloud. Plant the seed with tenderness and trust.

Above all, stay in nature as much as you can this month. Stay connected to the people who remind you of who you really are. Breathe. The old structures are shifting, and that can feel disorienting. But the more you anchor yourself in peace, in calm, in the quiet knowing of your own heart, the more you will feel the extraordinary new world that is emerging through all of this change.

July is a month that will not let us stand still. It asks us to be brave, to be truthful, to be tender, and to trust that the fire now moving through our lives is not here to destroy, but to illuminate. The old order is giving way. What rises in its place will be shaped by the quality of our consciousness, the openness of our hearts, and our willingness to reimagine what it means to belong to one another and to this beautiful earth.

You are here for this. Your soul chose this extraordinary moment. And the cosmos, in all its fierce and loving brilliance, is lighting the way.

Blessings to you dear readers!
